E-13B MICR Font

E-13B or E13B is the not-so-catchy name for what is known as a ‘MICR Font’. MICR fonts are used to print the ‘MICR Line‘ on the bottom of checks and financial documents. This line consists of account, transit, routing and amount data and is read by several MICR scanners throughout the many transfers financial documents are subject to.

The E-13B MICR font (or typeface) is unique to certain parts of the world including Canada and the USA. E-13B only consists of 14 characters; numbers 0 through 9 and four identifiers: transit, on-us, dash and amount.

E-13B is included with most check printing software and comes installed on all MICR printers. Download E-13B online today, but be forewarned; it’s not cheap. Verify your check printing hardware and software first, odds are it includes a version of the E-13B MICR Font.
